This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven. – Acts 1:11
The world is in conflict, but there is hope!
Did you know that we are able to read a lot in the Bible about the time in which we live today? We read about the past, about today and also about the future. And this is exactly what I want to talk about.
Our vision of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is very important. The way we think about the Second Coming determines whether we understand our role as a Christian today.
The Bible says that:
- Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of God the Father on the throne and He reigns;
- one day He will judge all the dead and the living;
- this Jesus will come back the same way as He ascended from the earth to heaven.
He will not come like a baby as He did 2000 years ago. At the age of 33, He died on a rough wooden cross and rose three days later. After that He appeared to many people and went to heaven carried away by a cloud. When Jesus returns, He will come in glory as the supreme King and Lord.
There are pastors, priests and theologians who do not believe in the physical return of Christ. There are others who constantly try to figure out the exact time of Jesus’ return.
Jesus did not instruct us to speculate about this. After all, the Bible says in Matthew 24:36: ‘But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’
One day God will give His Son a sign to go to earth and gather us to be with Him forever! We are often warned not to fall asleep. ‘So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him’ (Matthew 24:44). Are you awaken and ready?
