OnIn His wisdom, He did not allow man to come to know Him through the wisdom of this world. It pleased God to save men from the punishment of their sins through preaching the Good News. This preaching sounds foolish. – 1 Corinthians 1:21

There is a huge number of religious people who mean well and think they are pleasing God with their religion. And yet they are on the wrong track. Hundreds of millions of people follow a philosophy or religion and they are very serious about it.

Yet God has not given religion to save man. Even reading the Bible over and again or going to church cannot save us. These are guides and tell us how we are able to receive salvation.

God calls out to us throughout the Bible: ‘Look at My Son. You need Him. Do not reject My Son. Do not be deceived by the wisdom and reason of educated people and theologians.’

Jesus says: ‘You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about Me, yet you refuse to come to Me to have life’ (John 5:39-40).

The reason many today do not understand God’s plan for this world is because they want to analyze everything with their mind. They conclude that miracles no longer exist. Others think that salvation through the Blood is ridiculous. Still others deny that Jesus was born of a virgin or really rose from the dead.

In 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 Paul sets off the wisdom of God against human wisdom. He says: ‘For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God’ (verse 18). ‘For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength’ (verse 25).

Therefore, it is important that we do not try to understand God with our mind.
