For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. – Ephesians 6:12

The apostle Paul says that we are at war. If you have to wage war, you should know who your enemy is and how to fight. The reason why so many Christians are losing, is because they fight aimlessly, like a boxer who is beating the air (see 1 Corinthians 9:26).

An ongoing war

I pray for the spiritual eyes of God’s children to open to what is going on in the invisible world. There is an ongoing war between God and the evil one, heaven and hell, God’s angels and the fallen angels (the demons). We are right in between!

Many Christians think that they have little to do with that struggle and that the evil one only manifests himself in porn, drugs, alcohol, prostitution and occultism. However, Paul says that there are also demonic rulers and powers. These ‘generals’ or ‘top officials’ of the evil one are found in places where rulers have the opportunity to exercise their power in political, religious or economic matters.

The evil one pulls out all the stops to achieve antichristian governments. He establishes denominations that look religious, but they reject the essence of the Good News.

The demonic rulers and powers can also be found in educational systems aiming to keep young people away from God, in monetary systems, and in other movements like the New Age. There are also spirits of a lower level, such as perversion, addiction, etc.

How will I overcome?
  • A) Jesus says: ‘But this kind of demon does not go out but by prayer and by going without food.’
  • B) Identify these spirits. You will know where they come from by their fruit and through the discernment of the Holy Spirit;
  • C) Rebuke them by the blood of Jesus and in His name.

Dear reader, take your stand. Do not be afraid but be full of the Holy Spirit.
